I would like to thank you for the beautiful orchid that I received from you. It was a delightful unexpected surprise! I love orchids. Last year my daughter got breast cancer. The day after her last treatment I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  It was a tough year. Throughout my cancer I was not able to care for my orchid collection and I lost nearly 1/2 of them due to my neglect. Your gift was a wonderful way of encouraging me to nurture my remaining orchids as we nurtured my daughter and then as my family nurtured me during my cancer journey. My new orchid sits inside on my dining room table to remind me that life and beauty remain in my life. With love and appreciation

Knock Out Rabies Testimonials

Malawi is one of the countries where rabies is endemic. Efforts to eradicate the disease have been ineffective largely due to inadequate financial resources to reach more than 70% of the pet population. Mzuzu city was one of the areas where suspected rabies cases have been reported in both humans and animals with an average of 5 confirmed cases being registered annually. The contributions made by Community Veterinary Clinic (Florida, USA) within the city, for the past five years, cannot be under-estimated. Mzuzu city has been registering a decrease in suspected rabid dog cases since the mass vaccination campaigns started. I look forward to your continued support towards the initiative so that we eradicate rabies by 2030.

Hello, my name is Rachael Kaunda, I work as District Animal health and livestock  development officer for Mzimba North District Agriculture Office. Mzimba North is one of the seven agricultural district offices in the northern part of Malawi. According to Agricultural Production Estimates and Surveys (APES) report for 2023, the district registered 39,906 pets (32,314 dogs and 7,592 cats) with about a third being in the city. In the past, an average of 100 suspected rabid cases in animals and 2 human ones were being registered in the district. During the year, about 1,374 people were reported to have been bitten by both known and stray dogs. However, the district could only manage to vaccinate a few pets in hotspot areas due to inadequate resources for the purchase of the vaccine and limited number of doses supplied by the central government. The number of pets vaccinated against rabies has been increasing since 2017 Community Veterinary Clinic (Florida, USA) and other stakeholders started supporting the campaigns. We can now managed to cover the whole Mzimba North district including Mzuzu city. This has resulted in reduced suspected rabies cases being registered over the years. Let me express my gratitude to Community Veterinary Clinic (Florida, USA) for the support they have been giving us as a district in the fight against rabies so that both pets and the public are protected from the disease. I am also asking for continued support in order to cover 70% of the pet population.
